Christmas Memories

When I thought of the Christmases of my childhood, I was reminded on Christmas Eve services at church and then come back into the house to celebrate the birthday of Jesus with your neighbors. We had a cake and the children adopted in the Christmas story to read than the adults, and we all sang Christmas carols. What a fun time. And it did not cost much money.

My children are now grown and away from home, but with 4 children, Christmas could be very expensive. Previously, we were trying to acquire,a great gift for family and a small gift for each individual, and of course the Christmas stocking.

The Christmas Stocking is the part that stands the most for me from my childhood. There were always oranges, candies and small packaged gifts. She knew that it would be certain things that just "have Santa" can bring, because these things were never in the house all the time. The stockings were so special. My children had special "toe" socks from theirGrandmother. Each child had their own out with their names.

There are two special Christmas gifts that stand out in my mind from my childhood. One was a doll clothes that are hand made by my mother in a secret and was a tape that my father gave me and to his "Pineapple Princess". This year I was in class 8th It was my welcome to my teenage years.

I remember two special gifts that I gave my two boys. One was a small model of theStarship Enterprise, which was the only thing that played my oldest child with the greatest. It costs less than $ 5.00, but it was important to him. The other was a duvet cover that I have for my youngest son. It was a Canadian flag. His reaction was priceless .... "Mom did, how you do that without knowing me and how you can sew it without seeing me or seeing any of the material? When you do that?" He wrote an essay in the school and said that was his favorite thinghis duvet cover.

I recently sweaters for my two daughters, of whom lives in Taiwan at the moment. They were the same sweater, but in two different colors.

I've been thinking about how Christmas was much simpler, 19th in the early and 20 Century, and I decided that I would take some time to create a gift for my family and extended family members. I have some old Christmas carols and other pamphlets as well as some public domain materials, some short stories, some cars ideas, some recipes and some resources, and together as a gift for my family. I had so much fun that it's hard to say when to stop. There was so much more I could have added ... more stories, more recipes, more memories. I have a feeling that I will be building on this in the next few years.

I really think that the best memories and gifts are homemade.
